Elaine Marie Donovan, a resident of North Andover, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 6th. She was 63 years old.
Born in Lawrence on January 23, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Jeanette (Comeau) Donovan and Daniel Donovan. Elaine was a retired Professor from Merrimack College, with her Doctorate in Economics. One of her lasting legacies was her instrumental role in the creation of the Merrimack College Women and Gender Studies program. She was the mother of Emma K. Donnelly of Somerville and Eleanor R. Donnelly of Biddeford, Maine, sister of Patricia A. Donovan and Eileen M. Donovan both of Webster and the late Daniel P. Donovan Jr. and the late Karen (Donovan) Coldwell and aunt of Cheryl Ferguson of Chelmsford and Mark Broulliard of New Bedford.
