New Bedford – Miguel C. Torres Sr., age 68, passed away on Friday February 12, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of the late Juana (Cardona) and Casimiro Torres. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and moved to New Bedford he worked as a laborer for a local mason company for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by his 5 children: Miguel Torres of Rhode Island, Norma Marrero of Florida, Elizabeth Torres of New Bedford, Jessica Torres of Fall River and Joshua Torres of New Bedford; His wife Luz A. Torres and his companion Consuelo Almeyda; 3 Siblings: Gladys Carrion, Gilberto Torres both of New Bedford and Rosa Sanchez of Puerto Rico; a daughter in-law, Barby Andrade Torres 4 grandsons: David Andrade Torres, Adam Blais-Torres, Lorenzo Torres and Danny Torres; as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Wednesday beginning in the funeral home with visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
