Jane Grantham Griffin, 49, of Ocilla, died Friday, February 12, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Griffin was born July 23, 1966, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Pete & Dorothy Young Grantham. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School. Mrs. Griffin worked as a cashier at Flash Foods in Ocilla, as a security guard for Parker Security at MDI in Fitzgerald and South Georgia College in Douglas, and as a seamstress at Fitzgerald Underwear. She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed fishing with her husband. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband of 12 years, Howard Griffin of Ocilla; a brother, David & Maxine Grantham of Douglas and a sister, Loretta & John Fletcher of Sylvester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothy Laverne Griffin; three brothers: Gerald “Hollywood” Grantham, Billy Grantham, and Roy Grantham; and a sister, who died a few hours before Mrs. Griffin, Lynette Grantham Griffin.
