Obituary

Manchester-Marilyn Helene Quigley, 89, died February 11, 2016 at her daughters home following a long illness. She was born in Queens, NY. on June 2, 1926 the daughter of Marcel and Mary Helene (Beal) Brem. Marilyn and her husband Marty enjoyed many new adventures as they moved frequently for Marty’s career as an Electrical Engineer for Union Carbide. They moved every 5-7 years throughout the Northeastern U. S., New York, and Delaware to finally retire in Williamsburg, VA. Both were devoted parishioners at many Roman Catholic Churches and Marilyn devoted her free time to many volunteer organizations. She had many friends in many states as she loved people, was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining. Marilyn was a loving and devoted mother who will be sadly missed. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin J. Quigley, Jr. in 2004 and a son, Robert M. Quigley in 1990. Family members include three daughters, Kathleen Q. Berg of Manchester, Patricia Shaw and her husband, Jeff of Sprucehead ME., Susan Lambert and her husband, Michael of Northeast, MD., a son, Martin J. Quigley III and his wife, Maria of Yorktown, VA., eight grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one sister, Joan Smith of Island Park, NY., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be on Friday from 6-8 pm at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, 1493-95 Clayton St., Perryville, MD. 21903 A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11am on Saturday in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Perryville, MD. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, with her husband, Martin who was a decorated WWII Army Veteran.
