Laconia----Bruce E. “Moose” O’Hara, 50 passed away on February 10, 2016 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts after a long battle with dementia.
Bruce was born on December 1, 1965 in Laconia, NH, the son of John and Arlene (Leeman) O’Hara. He was a graduate of Laconia High School. He was a PFC in the United States Army from 1986 to 1989. He served in Germany as a motor transport operator for most of those three years. He drove delivery trucks for several local companies, volunteered on the Winnisquam Fire Department, and played softball in a local league.
In addition to his parents he is survived by, his daughter Chelsea Myrdek, grandchildren Meagan Rose and Spencer Myrdek of Laconia, his sons Shanan and Brandon O’Hara of Laconia, his brothers Richard O’Hara and his wife Lisa of Spring Lake, NC, Shannon O’Hara and his wife Amy of Northfield, Adam O’Hara and his wife Donna of Laconia, his sisters Heidi Estes and her husband Joshua of Belmont, and Nena O’Hara of Laconia as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents Richard & Mae O’Hara, Beverly Howard, and Arthur Leeman, his aunts Joyce Caulder, Jean Roy, Judy Therberge, and Rena Guerin, his uncle's Donald O'Hara, Charlie O'Hara, and Leo Guerin, and a cousin Richard Caulder.
Memorial calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Memorial Service will Immediately follow at 6:00pm also at the funeral home.
Burial will be Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:30am at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that clothing and personal care items be donated to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Rd. Building 62, Bedford, MA 01730.
