…L.P.N. at Bedford V.A. & Tewksbury Hospital; 78
LOWELL - James A. Donohoe Jr., age 78, a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and lifetime Lowell resident, died peacefully on Thursday, February 11, at Lowell General Hospital, following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Jeannine M. (Deveau) Donohoe, with whom he had celebrated a fifty-third wedding anniversary this past September 22nd.
He was born in Lowell in December 1937, the only child of James A. and Beatrice S. (Labonte) Donohoe, and educated in the Lowell School System.
Jim served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for fifteen years.
He graduated from Tewksbury Hospital’s School of Nursing, became an L.P.N. at Tewksbury Hospital for 10 years, and retired from the E.N. Rogers V.A. Medical Center in Bedford.
Besides his wife, he leaves four children, James A. Donohoe III of Lowell, Lisa A. and her husband Scot Garneau of Sanford, NC, Gerald P. and his wife Pam Donohoe of Hudson, NH, and Cheryl A. Donohoe of Lowell; three grandchildren Morgan Garneau, Michael Donohoe and Jason Donohoe; cousins, including June Bowser-Barrett of Sandwich, MA; a sister-in-law, Pauline Vachon of Lowell; a nephew, Stephen Vachon and his wife Monica, and their daughter Amy all of Lowell; and was predeceased by his infant daughter Beatrice Celeste.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 75 Chamberlain St., Lowell. At his request visiting hours are omitted.
