Obituary

CHICOPEE – Anne M. (McPhee) Hebert, 84, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Holyoke on November 10, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Harold and Mary (McLain) McPhee. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from the former Holy Rosary High School and lived in Holyoke for many years before moving to the Willimansett section of Chicopee where she lived for most of her life. She furthered her education and graduated from the former Providence Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She previously worked at the former Chapel Hill Nursing Home in Holyoke and had last worked at the Willimansett Center Nursing Homes in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she was often seen at many local bingo games where she met her many friends. She enjoyed puttering in her garden and picking flowers to make small bouquets which she shared with her many visitors. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She was a communicant of the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Willimansett and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, William L. Hebert, Sr. who was Called Home on October 23, 2013. They were married on April 30, 1955 at Saint Patrick Church in South Hadley and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She leaves her six loving children, Lynn A. Torcato and her husband, Patrick, Lawrence W. Hebert, William L. Hebert, Jr., Maureen M. Hebert and her partner, William Matteson, Kathleen R. Mengel and her husband, David, and Geraldine S. Cloutier and her husband, James, all of Chicopee; her nine cherished grandchildren, Patrick and his wife, Emily, Adam, Nicole, Melissa, Katelyn, Michael and his fiancée, Tiana, Tyler, Joselynn, and Desiree; her eight cherished great-grandchildren, Joseph, Ashlyn, Bradley, Michael, Mia, Bailey, Thomas and Everly; her dear brother, James McPhee of South Hadley; her four dear sisters-in-law, Claire Carter and Patsy Vieu and her husband, Raymond, all of South Hadley and Alice Skiba and Giovanna Hebert, both of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Hebert and McPhee families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Kathleen “Mickey” Moynihan. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday morning, February 17, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal will follow the Service at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
