Obituary

Salem, NH- Mr. Thomas M. Walsh Sr., 82, passed away Monday February 8th at Lawrence General Hospital with his family by his side.

Tom was born April 19, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Higgins) Walsh. Loving husband of 57 years to the late Bernadine C. “Bunny”(Babine) Walsh who passed in 2012.

Born in Boston, Tom was a graduate of Arlington High School. He has served his country in the Army reserves for over 17 years with the Yankee Division, First Battalion Artillery.

He worked most of his life as a truck driver for Sanborn Motor Express and most recently APA trucking up until his retirement.

Tom was a parishioner of St William’s Church in Tewksbury and St Matthews Church in Windham, NH. He was a member of the local Teamsters 25.

Tom had many hobbies but took great pride in his wood carving, collecting and listening to old classic albums, and making model boats. He was a great lover of the outdoors and enjoyed camping.

He is survived by his six children, Deacon Thomas Walsh Jr. and his wife Elaine, Richard Walsh and his wife Lisa, Maureen Waterman and her husband William, Elaine Gorfinkle, Edward Walsh and his wife Joanne, Barbara Frasca and her husband Neil; twelve adoring grandchildren, Leanne Merrill, Rebecca Walsh, Davyn Walsh, Jessica Fuller and her husband Matthew, Casey Walsh, Katie Gorfinkle, Janelle Gorfinkle- Stroud, Lauren Gorfinkle, Alexander Walsh, Cameron Walsh, Nina Frasca, Justin Frasca; one great grandson, Wesley Fuller; two sisters, Catherine Walsh and Jane Coughlin; a sister in law, Mary Mullen and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was pre-deceased by his son, Robert J. Walsh, his brother, Richard Walsh, and his sister, Mary Barry.


Visiting hours Friday, February 12th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey St and 975 Main St (Rt 38) Tewksbury Center, Ph (800 in Ma or 978) 851-2950. His funeral will begin Saturday February 13th from the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. William’s Church 1351 Main St (Rt38) Tewksbury at 10:00am. Burial will be private. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial gifts in Tom’s memory can be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
