Anne E. Whalen (Flaherty) age 89 of Milton passed away February 9, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, she was raised in S. Boston and graduated from Monsignor Ryan High. She worked as an Office Manager in the Anesthesiology Department at Boston City Hospital before retiring. Beloved mother of Robert W. Whalen of Plymouth, Maureen T. Whalen of Milton and the late Susan A. Kelly. Mother in law of the late James O. Kelly. Sister of Patrick J. Flaherty and his wife Lorraine of Dorchester, Patricia Dooley of Quincy, and the late Mary “Sis” Nee, Frances R. Kane, Agnes N. Crosson, Barbara Joyce and Theresa Dooley. Grandmother of Jana Kelly O’Neil and her husband Shane of Weymouth, Thomas J. and James O. Kelly both of Milton, Liam P. Kelly of Denver, CO and Patrick T. Donovan of Milton. Also survived by 2 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Hills Church Milton Friday morning at 10 am. Visiting hours omitted. Burial New Calvary Cemetery.
