SPENCER: Marie A. Vandale, 80, of Hastings Road died Saturday, Feb. 6 in her home.
She leaves her brother David Vandale of Spencer and a niece Amy Vandale of Spencer, several cousins and many friends and acquaintances gathered though her life. She will be missed by everyone.
Marie was born in Worcester, daughter of Armand A. and Rose Alma (Pelchat) Vandale. She grew up in Spencer and attended Spencer grade schools and then went to The Presentation of Mary School in Hudson, New Hampshire for her high school years. After graduation she opened her own photography studio on Wall Street and ran it for many years. She then moved to New York City and worked for Crompton & Knowles as a private secretary to the controller. After her mothers death in 1974, she moved back to Spencer to take care of her father. She worked for the Town of Spencer Tax Collectors office until retiring in 2013.
Marie always had a smile for everyone and would make friends easily. Bingo and trips to the casino with her friends were some of her favorite activities as well as finding great diners in the area. She was active in antiques which she would collect and sell.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street, Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 12 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
