Phyllis J. (Urban) Sliva, 94, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Walter Sliva.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Drewniak) Urban, she had resided in Westport since 1966. Prior to her retirement, she was a garment worker for various area mills. Mrs. Sliva was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, Fall River. She enjoyed gardening, going to the casino and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Ronald W. Sliva of Fall River and Edward J. Sliva and his wife Patricia of Fall River; her daughter: Carol A. Marsden and her husband Stephen of Westport; her brother: Richard Urban of Fall River; 6 grandchildren: Corey Sliva, Derek Sliva, Shelley Rego, Carley Lubarsky, Jillian Davenport and Brooke Sliva; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Frank Urban and Anna Kalil.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Bristol Elder Services, Personal-Touch Home Health Services and the Southcoast Visiting Nurses Association (Hospice & Palliative Care) for their thoughtful, caring assistance and compassion for Mrs. Sliva.
