Obituary

Josephine Angeline Grant, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation in Pascoag. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Goldie Angeline (Lucia) Carr.

She attended Classical High School. She resided for twenty-five years in Cranston and thirty years in Greenville, raising her family. Since 2010, she made her home at Overlook and leaves behind many friends and loved ones among the staff and residents.

She had a wide range of interests. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter, tried her hand at painting, studied other languages and religions, volunteered at the Smith-Appleby House, and took computer courses, becoming adept first with MS-DOS and then with a Macintosh. An avid reader, she enjoyed supporting and spending time at the Greenville Public Library. She loved music, laughter, and all the beauty in life.

A loving mother and friend to many, she will be remembered for her smile, keen intelligence, and caring nature.

She is survived by her children, Vickie A. Guertin of Northwood, North Dakota, Stephanie K. Dutra of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Angelynn J. Grant of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Peter W. Grant of Collingswood, New Jersey; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville, RI. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Burial at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery will be private.
