Obituary


NEWPORT- Stanley Zembo, 85, of Westport died Saturday, June 18, 2005 unexpectedly at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Irene ( Desrochers) Zembo.

Born in Westport, son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Dziedzic) Zembo, he had resided in Westport for all his life. He was formerly employed at the Newport Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, as a Maintenance Machinist for 22 years, retiring in 1980. Mr. Zembo was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport.

He was a World War II Army Veteran, enlisted in 1942 and Honorably discharged in 1946, where he was the recipient of the American Theater, Asiatic Pacific Theater, Philippine Liberation, Good Conduct, Army of Occupation Japan, and World War II Victory Medal.

In addition to his loving and caring wife of 62 years he is survived by two daughters: Frances Krudys of Westport, and Marguerite Ziemba of Virginia; 1 sister: Josephine Goulet of Westport; several grandchildren: especially Peter and Beth Krudys; 1 great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at St. George Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M.

At the request of the deceased calling hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private.
