Helen E. (Hannum) O’Donnell, 85, of Medway, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Blaire House in Milford. She was the beloved wife of Raymond J. O’Donnell who died in 2008.
Born in Putney, Vermont on May 19, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Marion E. (Benson) Hannum.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a resident of Medway since 1959.
She graduated from the Franklin County Public Hospital in Greenfield in 1951 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Boston University in 1960.
Retiring in 1995, she worked as a nurse at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick for 25 years and had previously been the Medway Public Health Nurse for 5 years.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a former member of the Medway Women’s Club.
She is survived by her son, Michael O’Donnell of Medway, her daughter, Kathleen Ober of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and three grandchildren, Shannon O’Donnell and Nathan and Matthew Ober.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway on Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
