VERDELLI, Guido O. Age 53, of Natick, formerly of Wellesley, passed away February 5th, 2016. Beloved husband of Rosemarie Cindy (Tutty) Verdelli and devoted father to his three beautiful daughters, Gemma, Andrea, and Abigail. Loving son of Ovidio Verdelli of Wellesley and the late Ines Perdoni Verdelli. Also survived by his sister, Antonella, her husband, David Walker of Weston and their children, Brian, Bradford and Olivia, his brother Steven Verdelli of Wellesley, his mother-in-law, Rose Tutty and the late John M. “Jack” Tutty of Braintree, his brother in-law John Tutty, his wife, Jill of Braintree and their two children, Samantha and John, his sister-in-law, Debbie Tutty of Rockland, and many adoring aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born in Fiorenzuola, Italy on September 8, 1962, his family moved to Wellesley in 1968. Guido was a 1981 graduate of Wellesley High School, he received his undergraduate degree in Education from Norwich University in 1985 and his Masters in Education in 1987. He was an aspiring soccer player and received many accomplishments for his skills on the field. He was named 1980 Boys Soccer All Scholastic and to the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League, the All American Soccer Team, the National Soccer Coaches Associates of America All Star Team, Division III All American Team and was an inductee in the Norwich University Sports Hall of Fame.
Guido continued his passion for both soccer and education when he became the head coach for the Suffolk University Women’s soccer team, followed by the Natick High School Men’s Varsity soccer team. He was able to extend his knowledge and love of the game to his players and daughters over the 12 years he coached for the Natick Soccer Club. He was known for his big smile, warm personality, and patience on and off the field. “One team, One heart”
Guido was President of Verdelli Landscaping, a family-run business started in 1972. He always took pride in his company and the relationships he built with his customers and employees. Guido was an avid sports fan, especially in the the Town of Natick, always supporting the community and lending a hand. Guido always had a full house, an open door and a golden heart, "there is always room for one more". His infectious sense of humor and sarcasm made family gatherings one of everyone’s favorite events. He enjoyed spending time down the Cape by the water, fishing, boating and sitting around a fire pit reminiscing. His greatest joy and passion were his three girls and devoted wife and the love of family he instilled upon us all.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 4-8pm. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
