Tulsa, Oklahoma- Hilda S. (Silva) Estrella died Friday June 17, 2005, at St.John Medical Center in Oklahoma. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Estrella. Survivors include a daughter Linda DaSilva and her husband Carlos of Spring Hill, Florida, were she was living. A son Joseph M. Estrella of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, whom she was visiting when she pasted away. She was the beloved grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 10. She was the sister of Rosalina Sousa of New Bedford. Several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Anna I. Sylvia and Hilda Estrella, John C. Estrella. She also had a deceased brother Jose DaSilva.
Mrs. Estrella was born in Agua Da Pau, Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal. She has lived in the New Bedford area for over 50 yrs. She was the daughter of the late Germaina (deSousa) and Joao daSilva. She was a member of Mt Carmel Seniors. Mt Carmel womans club and Dartmouth council on Aging.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 9 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6-9 P.M., on Tuesday June 21, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
