Margaret (Fitzgerald) Meier of Buzzards Bay died on Thursday June 16th at the Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth. A former resident of Yarmouth Port and Hyannis Port, Mrs. Meier was a resident of Needham for over 30 years until 1988 when she moved to Norwood, before moving to Cape Cod Born in Philadelphia, Margaret graduated from Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Boston University. After college, Margaret worked as a physical therapist at the VA Hospital in Hartford CT. She later married Norman Meier and moved to Needham to raise her family. Active in civic affairs, she was a volunteer for the Republican Town Committee for many years and also volunteered at the Library at the former Stephen Palmer School in Needham. Mrs. Meier was the loving mother of Craig A. Meier of Reading, Karen A. Meier of Norwood and the former wife of Norman R. Meier of Yarmouth Port . Grandmother of Kelley and Scott Meier. Sister of the late Mary Ellen Breitenfeld. Funeral From the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Tuesday June 21st at 9: 00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham. Immediately following the interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery the family will receive relatives and friends at the Suffolk Room at the Needham Sheridan.
