Obituary

Robert E. Diehl, 73, of Franklin, passed away on February 3, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of June (Clarke) Diehl for the past 52 years.

Born in Somerville on August 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Theodore and Evelyn Diehl.

Bob is survived by his wife June, his son Robert and wife Jean of Holden, his son Kevin and wife Mary of Blackstone, and his grandchildren Dianne Colace, Benjamin, Jacqueline, Julianne, Harrison and Erin Diehl.

He was also the loving brother of Janet Abbey and her husband Tom of Texas, Helen Rigas of Kingston, and the late Walter Diehl, Charles Diehl, Clara Johanson, Maryann Lee, and Margaret Watts.

Bob proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Before retirement he was a power plant Chief Engineer for the State of Massachusetts. Bob was an avid fisherman, hunter, coffee drinker, and story teller, often recalling mischievous childhood memories and his many travels around the world.

A celebration of life will be held at the Diehl’s residence 45 East Park St, Franklin on Monday, February 15th from 2 to 4 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
