Samuel G. Spence, Sr.
Evans, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, February 3, 2016, Mr. Samuel G. Spence, Sr., 99, loving husband of Katharine K. Spence.
Samuel was a native of Chester, S.C. and resident of Evans, GA. He was two months short of his 100th birthday. Samuel enjoyed making jokes and being with people.
Family members in addition to his wife of 73 years are daughters: Ginger K. Murphy; Pat E. Murphy and husband David, both from Lincolnton, GA.; son: Sam G. Spence, Jr. and wife Carol from North Augusta, S.C.: 10 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great-Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Spence is preceded in death by his son: William J. Spence.
A graveside service will be Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Geoff Gleason officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to any charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service.
