Alfred “Freddy” Valenti passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the company of a loving family. He was 93. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Anthony "Rip" and Concetta (Tarantino) Valenti. He served with the Navy during World War II as a radioman in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his return from the service, Fred worked as an insurance broker and then became the proprietor of Valenti Ticket Agency in Boston for over 35 years. He was a life member of the New England Showman’s Association.
The beloved husband of the late Mary A. (Guerra) Valenti, he was a devoted father of Frank Valenti and his wife Linda of Hampstead, NH, Connie Valenti, Carol Valenti Paci, Al Valenti and his life partner Cindy Conrad, all of Medford and Donna Valenti Murphy of W. Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Mark, Chris, Eric, Cara and her husband Jason, Dr. Gabrielle and her husband Paul, Timothy, Matthew, Michelle and Nicholas as well as a loving great-grandfather to Samuel, Theo, Parker, Grayson and Romeo. The dear brother of Anthony Valenti of Medford and the late Frank Valenti, Anna DeMarco and Marlene DiMare, he is also survived by his best pals Joe, Jimmy, Sal and Blackie.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, February 6th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home, Friday 4 - 8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Freddy’s name to the veteran’s charity of One’s choice.
