Dorothy L. West, 85, of Maplecrest Drive, Greenville died Saturday in RI Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Harry A. West, Jr. They had been married for 62 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Gertrude (McGrath) Cahir. She had lived in Greenville for 18 years previously living in Providence. She had been a dietitian with Nickerson House before retiring. She was a self-employed Wedding cake designer. She was an avid reader and had enjoyed her weekly book club. She was a communicant of St. Philip Church.
She leaves her children, Mary Ann Weldon and her husband Jerry of Warwick, Harry A. West, III and his wife Cheryl of Attleboro, MA, Jo Ann West of North Providence, Kathleen A. Leveille and her husband Raymond of Greenville, Julie A. Whaley and her husband Fred of Narragansett and Richard A. West and his wife Oksana of North Providence, grandmother of 21 and great-grandmother of 13, siblings, Gertrude Pariseault of Warwick and Mary McPeak (Wilfred) of Coventry. She was the sister of the late Fredrick, John, Thomas Cahir and Mildred Curley.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm. Her burial will in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter.
