Elbert Junior Key

Elbert Junior Key, 76, of Alexandria, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Livingston, Tenn on February 21, 1939 to Casto and Bessie (Looper) Key. He retired from Guide Lamp in 1995 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of the UAW 662 and the Lapel Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working on his small farm, talking to people and going to Hoosier Park Casino. He loved to buy, sell and trade anything. He never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his children, Robert Key of Alexandria and Michelle (Truitt) Ficklin of Alexandria. five grandchildren; Brandon Key of Alexandria, Brittney Key (Josh Goodson) of Chesterfield, Landon Ficklin, Layton Ficklin, and Luke Ficklin all of Alexandria, and special friends; Junior Harris, Janie Brown, Bob Hendrickson, and Wendle Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years , Mary Price Key; his parents Casto and Bessie (Looper) Key, his brothers: Beecher Key, Harmon Key. Kermit Key, and Doyle Key, and his sisters: Vergie Key and Betty Key Carey.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday. February 6th at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Joe Roysden officiating. Entombment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria.
Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4-7:30 PM with Masonic rites at 7:30 given by the Lapel Masonic Lodge #625.
