SALEM - Marilyn Villa (Judkins) Addison, 93 years young, died on January 30, 2016 from complications of pneumonia. In 2008 she lost her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert Bruce Addison, Sr. Marilyn was born on January 1, 1923 in Olympia, WA. Marilyn and her identical twin sister, Madilyn were adopted by Inez and Edward Judkins of Reading, MA and then moved to their Salem home where she lived for over 80 years.
Marilyn and her husband were active members of the First Baptist Church of Salem and loved the Lord and family with all her heart. She was church secretary for First Baptist for five ministers and two interim pastors. Always in the administrative field, Marilyn worked for James Graham, head of the Human Resources department at Holyoke Mutual Insurance, Salem beginning in 1970 and where she retired from in 1988. She was the editor of the monthly company newsletter and was named ‘Flash’, as he official photographer for Holyoke.
Marliyn assisted in the compilation of a 500 page family geneology, “Taylor Generations” which traced her biological father’s family back to 1796 in Donagal, Ireland, after their sister Anita Orbiz from California found the family in 1980. Marilyn and Bob enjoyed many trips to California and visited Washington State where they were able to meet relatives and friends of their ‘lost family’.
Marilyn and her family spent 53 years each summer in Kingston, NH with our Kingston family. Many dear friends were made at the Lake and the family is eternally grateful for the opportunities this relationship has been to every Addison family member.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Robert B. Addison, Jr. and his wife Joanne, a daughter, Bonnie Lyn Addison and her husband, Carmen DeCenzo, five grandchildren, William Addison and his fiancé, Donna, John Addison and his wife Suzanne, Lisa Gerardi and her husband, Dana, Matthew LeBeau and his wife Elizabeth, and Maribeth Inconiglios and her husband, Paul. Marilyn is also survived by her nine great –grandchildren, Jon Paul Addison, Megan and Erin Perry, Eleanor and Henry LeBeau, Teagan and Tatum Gerardi, and Phillip and Cora Inconiglios, three siblings, Anita Orbiz Gordon Taylor and Irvin Taylor and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 5 siblings, a set of twins who died at birth, Madilyn Moody, Eugene Taylor and Calvin Taylor.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, Salem. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be immediately following at the Greenlawn Cemetery , Salem.
