Louise “Marie” Willis Gray, 76, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Jerry Riggs officiating. Mrs. Gray will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Matt Fowler, Steffen Pearman, Adam Williams, Nick Young, Trent Gray, Ronnie Collier and Terry Willis will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 5, 1939 in Brookfield, Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late Cecil Charles Willis and Minnie Ruth Rape Willis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Terrell Willis. She was a homemaker and worked previously at J. P. Stevens in Tifton.
Marie loved life. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everybody. She was known as MaMe to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved them with all her heart. Her family meant everything to her and we are better off for having her in our lives.
Mrs. Gray is survived by her husband of 51 years, J. D. Gray, Jr. of Tifton; her children and their spouses, Donna Young Fowler and husband, Roger of Tifton, Robert Charles and Mary Young of Farmington, Michael Todd Gray of Tifton and Brian Eugene and Kelly Gray of Tifton; her grandchildren and their spouses, Heather Fowler Pearman and husband Steffen, Matthew and Jamie Barnhill Fowler, Jennifer Fowler Williams and husband Adam, Robert Charles Jr. and Lynn Nichols Young, Andrew Charles and Tara Normandin Young, Jordan Nicholas Young, Savannah Rose Gray, Trenton Michael Gray, Rebecca Audrey Felts, Austin Lee Felts, Brannen Finch and Jamie Finch; her great-grandchildren, Abigail Pearman, Mason Pearman, Hudson Fowler, Collin Fowler, Isabelle Williams, Addison Williams, Anzlee Young; and several special nieces and nephews.
