TEWKSBURY - James L. McGlinchey Jr., age 38, a former contractor, died early Friday
morning, June 17, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after an extended period of
declining health. He was the son of James L. McGlinchey Sr. of Tewksbury and Eileen (Cadigan)
McGlinchey of Tewksbury.
He was born in Melrose, but had lived in Tewksbury since infancy. He attended Tewksbury
Memorial High School.
He had worked throughout the greater Lowell area in the roofing and home construction trades.
He was a former member of the Fr. Coppen’s, Knights of Columbus, Council 4336 in Tewksbury
and was a lifelong communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
Besides his mother and father, he is survived by a sister, Sherry McGlinchey of Tewksbury, four
nieces and nephews, Brendan, Tyler, Cameron, and Alysa; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, June 21, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Fr. Coppen’s K of C Council
Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 703, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
