IVINS, UTAH___Thomas Francis Murphy, 67, of Ivins, formerly of Worcester died on June 13, 2005 after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Judith A. (Sullivan) Scott Murphy; two children, David T. Murphy and his wife, Robin of Shrewsbury and Monica R. Coakley and her husband, Thomas J. of Charlton; two step-children; Michelle Scott of Holden and Matthew Scott, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Wichita, Kansas; a brother, John Murphy and a sister, Barbara Shimkus. He also leaves four grandchildren; Megan M. and Kevin D. Murphy and Mary Elizabeth and John F. Coakley. He was born in Worcester, son of John Francis and Joan (Jacewicz) Murphy.
He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked many years for the Commonwealth of Ma., Department of Mental Health retiring in 2000. After retiring he and his wife moved to Utah. Tom, being an avid golfer, was employed by Entrada Golf Resort at Snow Canyon up until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Polish Naturalization Independent Club, the Elks, American Legion Post # 318 and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Calling hours at HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester are Sunday June 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester at 10:30 a.m. on Monday June 20. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester following the funeral.
