Nickolas A. “Rozy” Rasetta, age 29, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Malden, MA on February 26, 1986, he was the beloved son of Louis A. and Sherri L. (Lortie) Rasetta of Norton.
Nick grew up in Norton and was a 2004 graduate of Norton High School where he played football, ran track and was selected by his fellow teammates to serve as captain of the football team (Norton Lancers). He went on to attend the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he also played football for the Buccaneers.
Nick was a member in good standing for The Carpenters union of local 535. Throughout his life he was a Catholic Christian.
As a young child Nickolas perused a life long passion for various athletic activities. He achieved many awards for his competitive spirit. Nick’s hobbies include flag football, snowboarding, fishing, weight lifting, ice-skating, and motorcycle riding. He was involved in boy scouts and achieved the rank of an Eagle Scout.
Nick was a father figure and mentor to his Nephew Sam, and was thrilled with the recent arrival of his niece Bella.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his loving sister Karli A. Rasetta of Norton. He was the longtime committed boyfriend of Jessica E. Schneider of Norton. He was the adoring uncle of Samuel A. Rasetta and Bella R. Rasetta. He was the dear grandson of Louis A. Rasetta, Wilma A. Kennon, Gerald Barrett and his wife Marguerite, and the Late Rudy Lortie and Esther Rasetta. He was the cherished nephew of Robert and Linda Moccia, Tony Primo, Ken and Michelle LeVie, Stephen and Karen Rasetta, Ken and Shena Gannino, Nicole Barrett, the late Rita Rasetta, and is also survived by many loving cousins.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St., Attleboro. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 5th from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
