Henry Grady Kellett, Jr., 84 of Port St. Lucie, FL. passed away January 26, 2016 after a period of declining health. He was born March 12, 1931 in Duluth, GA and was a son of the late Henry, Sr. and Sally (Lowe) Kellett.
Mr. Kellett was a United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from The University of New Hampshire with a degree in Electrical Engineering and retired from Rockwell International in 1989 as a Senior Research Scientist. He was a pioneer in Voice Recognition Technology and held several patents in this field. He enjoyed singing Karaoke and was an avid Scrabble competitor. He loved spending time with his family and will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather.
Members of the family include one son and his wife, James G. (Kristen) Kellett, four daughters and their husbands, Cathie (Sam) Kellett-Brink, Linda (John McDonnell) Kellett, Jane (Ted) Stewart and Sandy (Dave) Gilbertson, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, his brother and his wife, H. Lamar (Annette) Kellett and a sister-in-law, Patricia Morrison, also close friends and caregivers Suzette and Louis Jean Baptiste as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Hodgdon) Kellett, a daughter, Sharon Kellett, his sister, Geraldine Sudderth and a grandson, Stephen Fairfield.
Calling hours were held on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday at 10 am at First Parish Church, E. Derry Rd. in E. Derry, with burial that followed at Forest Hill Cemetery of E. Derry.
