Boylston: Richard D. Noel, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Beaumont Nursing Center in Northborough. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Joan G. (Palmer) Noel; 3 sons, Richard Noel and his wife Cynthia of Berlin, Stephen Noel of Boylston, and Christopher Noel and his wife Sharon of Sarasota, FL; his one and only daughter, Kim Noel Young and her husband Roger Young, Jr., of Boylston; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason, and Sarah; Kayla (pre-deceased), Brady, and Autumn; and Cameron and Brandon; as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Rowen, and Bryce. He was also pre-deceased by brother, Raymond Noel and sister, Lorraine Paciello.
Richard was born in Worcester, son of Ida B. (Sweet) and Joseph S. Noel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Richard lived a very full life in Boylston raising his family. He was a heavy equipment operator and master mason by trade and loved to practice his skills around his home and the homes of his children helping them with projects. The garden Richard planted each year was a work of art. He was a great lover of sports and spent a lot of time before he became ill watching his grandson play basketball. Rye Beach New Hampshire was a place where Richard's heart soared, spending time with his wife and beloved dogs on the beach. Richard loved to fish and be outdoors. He traveled by motor home on many occasions to North Carolina and Florida to be with his son Christopher and his family. Richard was a man who would help anyone out, and he kept himself very busy helping out the people of Boylston. Richard will be greatly missed by his devoted wife who was by his side everyday as he battled Alzheimer's. What we will miss most is his beautiful smile and sense of humor.
Funeral services and Celebration of Richard's Life will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, his 85th Birthday. A calling hour will be held from 10-11 am followed by the funeral at 11am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston.
