Obituary

NORTH SACO – Sylvia L. (Fay) Haley, 80, of Saco passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was born on August 18, 1935 and raised in Waterboro, ME. She is the daughter of F. Robert and Louise Fay.
Sylvia is a graduate of Hollis High School class of 1954 and attended Adult Education for bookkeeping in 1974.

On September 3, 1955 she married John C. Haley and moved to Saco.

Sylvia was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, going to fairs, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events with her husband, Jack. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and being a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Hollis.

She was pre-deceased by her husband John (Jack) Haley Sr., two sons John Jr and Joey Haley, and her two brothers Robert and Fredrick Fay.

She is survived by her daughter Sonya and her husband John Booth, daughter-in-law Gloria Haley, two sister-in-laws, Linda Haley and Judith Fay. Her grandson Daryl LaBelle who lived with her and took care of her. Other grandchildren include Travis and Amanda LaBelle, Richard C. LaBelle Jr., and Nicholas LaBelle, John III and Kathleen Haley, Donna, Amanda, and Jason Haley, Michael Henderson and Matthew Pelkey. Four step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The service celebrating her life will be held on February 27th at 12:00 noon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 80 Pleasant Hill Rd. Hollis.
