Gordon R. Jansen, Sr., 76, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was husband of Patricia A. (Magrath) Jansen. Born in New Bedford, son of the late Violet W. Jansen, he was a lifelong resident of New Bedford.
Including his wife, survivors include 5 sons: Gordon Jansen, Jr., Mark Jansen, Richard Jansen, Robert Jansen and Everett Jansen; 3 daughters: Ramona Jeffries, Donna Viger and Dorothy Jansen; 3 brothers: John Gregory, Bruce Harrop and David Harrop; 4 sisters: Melody Sturtevant, Gayle Gregory, Metzie Soares and Joy Harrop; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Juanita Gregory and Edmond Harrop.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M.
Graveside service will be at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport following the visitation.
