Obituary

Grace Hunter Hudson, 87, of Irwin County, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Nashville.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016, at Frank Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Eulogies will be given by James Piper and Donna Hunter Glenn. Interment will follow in Frank Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Roberson and the Rev. Michael Finn officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Hudson was born July 4, 1928, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Robert V. and Laura Hunter. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a farmer’s wife. She was a member of the “Rambling Sisters” Red Hat Society and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved working outside in her yard. A member of Frank Primitive Baptist Church, she enjoyed participating in her circle’s activities.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Jimmy Browning of Nashville; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Hudson of Ocilla; her grandchildren and their spouses: Wesley Hudson of Ocilla, Jodi Swanson of Jacksonville, Florida, Crystal Mixon of St. Simons Island, Randi & Benji Giddens of Fitzgerald, Robin & Chris Timmons of Columbus, Jenni Lynn & James Taylor of Ocilla, Hannah Hudson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Hunter Hudson of Ocilla, Teresa & Jon Blake of Nashville, and Beth & Aaron Walton of North Port, Florida; great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Blake, Kinley Blake, Conner Hudson, Jase Hudson, Gracie Giddens, Kaine Giddens, and Payton Taylor; a sister, Mildred Winn of Savannah; several nieces and nephews and a precious family friend: April Shubert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Eugene Hudson; two sons: Ricky Hudson and Tommy Hudson; two brothers: Billy Hunter and Bobby Hunter and two sisters: Marguerite Rogers and Catherine Piper.
