Robert J. Quinlan, 87, a resident of Methuen, died on January 25, 2016, at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover.
He was born in Lawrence on September 17, 1928 to Martin and Emma (Viewig) Quinlan. Educated in Lawrence Local Schools a graduate of Lawrence High School and later graduated after a two year program at Lowell Technical School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for Mead Corporation and then later for Lawrence Paper Board Products having retired as Vice President. He was an avid golfer and loved to play tennis.
He leaves his loving wife Joyce E. (Haigh) Quinlan and survived by his daughter Sharon and her husband Robert Lombardini of Otsego, MI and two sons: Dr. David Merritt of Colorado and Robert and his wife Jo Ann Merritt of Colorado and his two loving grand children: Heather and Robert Lombardini. His twin brother; Daniel Quinlan and his wife Joan of North Andover, one sister-in-law; Beatrice “Betty” Quinlan of Lawrence, as well as several nieces and nephews. As well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers; John, Frank and William Quinlan and two sisters: Marguerite Connors and Marion Deyermond.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:30AM in St. Michael Church in North Andover. A burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
