WEBSTER – Skender “Ski” Ali, 77, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Doris A. (Ceppetelli) Ali; 2 sons, Craig G. Ali, an officer in the Oxford Police Department, and his wife Lisa of Webster, and Ken L. Ali and his wife Donna of Williamstown, NJ; a daughter, Johnna A. Amico and her husband Jamie of Dudley; 7 grandchildren, Corey Ali, Jackie Wietzman and her husband Jeff, Kristin Ali, Andrea Dombroski and her husband Eric, and Cody, Kyle and Tanner Amico; several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. He also leaves behind his faithful companion, his dog Happy.
He was born in N. Grosvenordale, CT, a son of Shaban and Refie (Spaho) Ali and graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in 1957. He moved to Webster at the time of his marriage in 1960.
He served in the Army National Guard for 8 years.
Mr. Ali was a meat cutter at Philip’s Market in Whitinsville for 28 years and then at Park ‘N’ Shop in Dudley for several years before he retired.
He was an active member of the Webster Lodge of Masons for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and gardening as well as making his own maple syrup in the spring.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 27, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. His oldest grandson Corey will offer a eulogy at 6:15 PM.
