PLYMOUTH – Anna F. (Mahoney) (Harrington) Newbury, wife of the late Waldo L. Newbury, died at Life Care of Plymouth on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
She was 91.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Annie L. (Warner) Mahoney.
She was educated in Roxbury and a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, class of 1940.
She moved to this area in 1961 and lived in Taunton for over 50 years.
She worked as a clerk in retail sales, retiring in 2009.
She was a member of the Raynham Lioness Club, a Cub Scout leader and taught religious classes at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Taunton.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and visiting York Beach in Maine.
She was also a communicant of Holy Family Church of Taunton.
She leaves two daughters, Ann M. (Harrington) Goslin of Weymouth and Dorothy E. (Harrington) Repoza of Forestdale; two sons, Bruce L. Newbury of Rhode Island and Brian L. Newbury of Tujunga, CA; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister to the late Thomas F. “Frannie” or “Moxie” Mahoney, John R. “Jack” Mahoney and Mary C. Moulton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, June 18th from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Services will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
