Obituary

SALEM - Raymond A. Gagne, 81, of Peabody, husband of Joan A. (Predki) Gagne, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at his residence following a short illness.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Francis and Clarina (Beauvais) Gagne.

A Korean War Veteran, Raymond served in the US Navy.

Raymond was employed for many years as a master pipefitter and journeyman plumber with the united association of pipefitters service techs steam fitters sprinklerfitters and plumbers union, working in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire prior to his retirement in the late 1980's.

A resident of Peabody for several years He was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to watch the Boston Bruins.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, he is survived by one daughter, Joan M. Auclair Gagne and her husband Jimmy Auclair, of Byfield, four sons, Anthony J. Gagne of Peabody, Raymond A. Gagne, II of Haverhill, Gerald W. And his wife Judy Gagne of Cartlett, Virginia, Timothy T. Gagne of Amesbury, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother, Ernest Gagne of Georgia, one sister, Eva Hare of Salem and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joanne Collins, Rita Muise and Arthur Gagne.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square east, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
