Rosemarie Arthur (Drago), age 83, of Weymouth, passed away January 22, 2016 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born in South Boston then was raised and educated in the Wollaston area of Quincy. She married James Arthur, her husband of many years and settled in Weymouth where they raised a family. Rose also attended business college in Boston. She was formerly employed as medical office manager for Dr. William Helfrich in Quincy and Weymouth for many years and enjoyed her work there. Rose’s independence, ambition, and good humor were pillars of her role as matriarch of her family which allowed her to lead great examples for the generations under her. Although Rose was an amazing mother, she was an even better grandmother. Even after constant claims by her grandchildren of her having a favorite grandchild, she always remarked how she could never and she loved all of them equally. Rose lived a long happy life enjoying activities like tennis, trips with friends to Nantucket, and was an avid reader but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Rose was predeceased by her husband James Arthur. She is survived by her loving children James Arthur of Mount Vernon, NH, Judy Sullivan and her husband John of Brockton, MA, and Laurie McDonald and her husband George of Wolfboro, NH, Cherished grandmother to Michelle DiVincenzo, Brian McDonald, Joanna McDonald, Erica Sullivan, Garret McDonald, Cory Sullivan, and the late Michael Arthur.
