Danny Silas “Rocky” Hutto, Sr., died Friday, January 22, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 25, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Larry Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the New Testament Holiness Church Cemetery in the Queensland Community of Ben Hill County. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, January 24, 2016, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Rocky was born on September 14, 1953, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Vernon and Janie Elizabeth Branch Hutto. He was a truck driver and a logger for John O. Cook logging company and was veteran of the United States Army. Rocky enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible, but most of all, his family was the most important part of his life; he cherished his time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years: Jan Batchelor Hutto of Fitzgerald; two sons, Danny S. (Bug) Hutto, Jr. and wife Debra Ann, George Hutto and fiancé Sherry Holt all of Fitzgerald, Georgia. Grandchildren: Danny, Christopher, Elizabeth, Sabrina and Dixie; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robby Hutto and wife Jane of Ambrose, Tom Hutto and wife Rita Rose of Hazlehurst; sisters, Cathy H. Ross and husband Vance of Fitzgerald, Tilda H. Butts and husband Ronnie of Mystic and close cousin, Bennett Hutto of Hazlehurst. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; a son, Buddy Lee Hutto.
