Obituary

SALEM - Roy K. Lapham, 79, of Salem, husband of Eleanor T. (Marraffa) Lapham, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice, Danvers, surrounded by his family.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie (Roy) Lapham and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Roy was employed for 45 years as a draftsman for the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 17, until his retirement in 2000.

He was an avid sports fan and reader, loved the beach and adored his Westie, Lexi.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Pam Lapham Shute and her husband Mark of Salem, 3 sons, Edward Lapham and Richard Lapham and Tommy Lapham, all of Salem, grandchildren Grier Shute, Tom Shute, Dena Roberts, Anjolie Ciampa, Chynna Lapham Bezzati, Eddie Lapham, Casey, Jamie and Sandy Pelkowsky, great grandchildren, Amber Roberts, Mateo Bezzati and Malia Bezzati, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jack Linehan of Newport Beach, CA and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Lapham, Norma Healey and Marjorie O’Neil.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Cemetery services are private.
