Mr. Jean Hubert Labranche, age 83, transitioned on Monday, January 18, 2016. Born on August 27, 1932, in Mirebalais, Haiti, he was the son of the late Eugene and Altagrace Labranche.
In his youth, Jean Hubert attended Lycee Alexandre Petion in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He loved helping people, enjoying his employmentwith the Service National d'Eradication de la Malaria (SNEM) in Haiti. In 1953, he experienced re-birth through babtism in Jesus Christ. He attended a Baptist church where he served fervently until immigrating to the United States, where he became a member of the Church of God, Bethel of Boston. There, for a short period, he served as a Sunday school teacher. He provided for his family through hard work in hospitality, transportation and environmental services. Jean Hubert enjoyed watching both football and soccer with his family. His favorite pastime was reminiscing and sharing stories of his younger days with his friends and family.
Jean Hubert Labranche is survived by his loving and caring wife of 62 years, Marie Elizanne. His surviving children are: Yves Clausel; Jean Malherbe & his wife Marie Audule; Pierre Rolin & his wifeMieka; Anide Marie & her husband Marc Dufanal; Minoche & her husband Serge Guerrier;Eugenie; Marie Wadiche; Louis Wajems & his wife Audreene Diana; and Wachmide.
His legacy carries on in his grandchildren: Elisa S. & her husband Hilaire Joseph; MelindaN. Malherbito, Gody R.., Cynthia M., Josue, Joanne M.,Nashadee A.,Adam, Isaac S., Mahari E., and Jeremiah J. His great-grandchildren: Alicia H., and Zachary Joseph. His mother-in-law Marie Aniole Dumornay, brother Moise, sister Josephine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday January 22 from 7-9PM at the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, January 23 at 10 AM at the Faith Christian Church, 301 Harvard Street, Dorchester.
Burial will follow at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean Hubert's memory to the charity of one's choice.
