Obituary

Walsh, William Edmund, 78, of Newton Centre, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mission Hill – Roxbury, he was the beloved husband of more than 50 years to Maureen (Harney). Devoted Father of James P. Walsh and his wife Laurie of Weymouth, Eileen M. Gillis and her husband Paul of Walpole, Bridget A. Graham and her husband Andrew of Walpole and William A. Walsh and his wife Fiona Healy of Newton. Loving Grandfather to Aidan and Susan Walsh, Brendan, Megan, Christopher and Timothy Gillis, Sean, Catherine and Kelly Graham and Brenna, Shane and Delia Walsh. Son of the late John and Agnes Walsh. Brother of John A. Walsh, Thomas A. Walsh and the late Joan McCarthy.

Bill received a B.A. from Suffolk University and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School.
He was a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and Charles River Country Club. He was a U. S. Army Veteran.

Bill’s greatest joys were spending time with his family (including his 12 grandchildren), traveling the world with his wife Maureen, and playing golf. Bill will be remembered for his love of life and his wonderful Irish humor by all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 26th from 3pm - 8pm in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St, West Roxbury.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27th at 10:30am in the Sacred Heart Church, 1321 Centre St, Newton Center. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery
