Obituary

David T. Ebert, 67, of Derry, NH passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 26, 1948 in Manchester, NH, a son of the late Arthur and Katherine (McCarthy) Ebert. David proudly served his country in the US Army 101st Airborne during Vietnam where he received both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He loved his country and was a true American. David was the owner of the Pancake Hut, a town icon in Derry for many years. He sponsored several race cars and enjoyed attending the races. He also enjoyed playing cards and cribbage. Before his health declined, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. David especially loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kristin (Selder) Ebert of Derry, one son, Jason Ebert and his wife Lee Ann of Jacksonville, FL, one daughter Jamie Ebert of Derry, four grandchildren, Sammy, Lorelei, Jaden and Kenneth; two brothers Arthur Ebert and his wife Maryann of Pembroke, NH and Jack Ebert and his wife Heidi of Auburn, NH, one sister, Kathleen Zawasky and her husband Philip of Norton, MA, his best friend Joseph Barden, a cousin he was especially close with, Tommy Barnes, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one granddaughter Lauren Greenslade.

Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Monday, January 25th from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Private funeral services were held by the family. The burial with Military Honors was in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
