Manchester– Edythe Eleanor (Lawrence) Ludwig, 82, died peacefully January 20, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.
Edythe was born in Manchester on July 25, 1933 the daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Campbell) Lawrence.
She graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1952 and went on to a career in retail working for Eagle Merchandise, Leavitt's Department Store and Avon. She was a member of the Masonic Rainbow Girls and made many lifelong friends working as a hospital transporter for CMC.
Family members include her husband of 61 years, Robert E. Ludwig of Manchester, one son, Gary Ludwig and his wife, Nancy of Henniker, one daughter, Kathleen (Ludwig) Gobin and her husband, Brian of Goffstown, three grandchildren, Christopher Ludwig, Jennifer Dusseault, Stephanie Diaz, four great grandchildren, Jayden Dusseault, Jackson Dusseault, Alyvia Ludwig, Warner Ludwig, one brother, Robert Lawrence of Manchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial reception will be held on Saturday January 30, 2016 from 12 to 2 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A celebration of life will take place at 1:30 PM during the reception.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care Maple Leaf Nursing Home, Elliot Hospital ICU and the Elliot Hospital’s Fitch Unit provided for Edythe.
