Obituary

SALEM - Douglas C. Dash, 80, of Salem, husband of the late Patricia A. (Kilderry) Dash, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a short illness.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late William C. and Elizabeth (MacMillen) Dash. A lifelong resident of the city, he was a graduate of Salem High School and resided in North Salem many years.

Mr Dash served in the Army during the 1950's

He was employed in the construction industry for many years, first as a carpenter with Connolly Brothers of Beverly, then, he was a construction superintendent for Channel Builders in Andover, and later, for Lutz Construction in Hamilton. He later was employed in the Salem public school system until his retirement in 2010.

An avid golfer and fisherman, he was a member of the North Shore Golf League, Ducks Unlimited and was a member of the Veragua Council #76, Knights of Columbus in Salem.

He is survived by two sons and their wives, Terence and Laura Dash of Raleigh, NC, Kevin and Christine Dash of Beverly, three grandchildren, Jordan Dash, Holly Dash, Amy Silva, a brother and sister-in-law, William and Jeanette Dash of Danvers, a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Charles Reardon of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas D. Dash and daughter, Cynthia A. Silva.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, with a service on Tuesday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Cemetery services are private.
