Frederick C. Byrd, age 80, of Atkinson, NH, and formerly of Concord, MA, died on Tuesday, January, 19, 2016 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH. Frederick was born on February 16, 1935 in Boston, MA, the son of the late John H. and Sadie J. Byrd.
Frederick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Wasp CVS-18. He was a long time member of the Concord, MA Minutemen and also a former Scout Master.
Members of the family include his two sons, Gregory F. Byrd and his wife Barbara of South Weymouth, MA and Douglas F. Byrd of Nashua, NH; a daughter Jennifer M. and her husband Scott R. Bradley of Methuen, MA; his long time companion Claire Brandy of Hampstead, NH and numerous nieces and nephews. Frederick is also survived by his former wife Barbara F. Byrd of Concord, MA.
Frederick was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Marek and Barbara Gould.
At Fredericks request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frederick's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or, memorial donations can be made to an organization of one's choosing.
