Obituary

William L. "Bill" Redden, 87, of Yulee passed away Thursday morning, January 21, 2016 at the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans' Nursing Home in St. Augustine.
Mr. Redden was born November 13, 1928 in Charleston, IL, the son of the late Trelly and Fern Redden of Tuscola, IL. He moved to the Callahan and then Yulee from Jacksonville, FL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Yulee Baptist Church where he served as an usher, deacon and teacher.
Bill loved developing and maintaining his property, fishing and serving God. He was a certified electronics technician at Cain & Bultman in Jacksonville for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Mabel A. Redden; a brother, Robert Redden of Tuscola, IL; his in-laws, Alfred and Elzie Witt; as well as his parents.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Daniel L. and Angela Redden of Neptune Beach, FL; two daughters, Jennifer Kay Fazikas (Stephen) of Clyo, GA and Vickie Lynn Buckner of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Marjorie Scott of Camargo, IL; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by many relatives and friends in Illinois, Florida and Yulee Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, at Yulee Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Sides officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., Yulee Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Community Hospice of N. E. Florida.
