Beatrice Thurman, of The Woodlands, Texas and formerly of Ventura, CA., born December 17,1934 in Fresno, CA., to Valentine and Theresa Meza, passed away peacefully January 17, 2016.
Beatrice, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who was loved and cherished by many, will be greatly missed.
Beatrice was a devote Catholic, who enjoyed attending Sunday Mass and prayed her beloved rosary daily. She had a strong belief in prayer and entrusted The Lord’s will.
Our mother enjoyed gardening her roses, and spending time with her friends at the Community Center, painting and performing Tai Chi.
Beatrice graduated from Ventura College and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Beatrice loved education and proudly worked for the Oxnard School District and enjoyed teaching in many schools in Ventura County.
Beatrice is survived by her children, Patricia Thurman-LaMere of
Ventura, CA., Anthony Thurman (Jerrie) of San Jose, CA., Theresa
Dunckel (Kris) of The Woodlands, TX., and Roberta Ecker (John) of Belleville, IL. Grandchildren, Master Sgt. James Babin (Yolanda), Tyson Babin (Bailey), Stephanie Mandernacht, Michael Thurman (Tracy), Kathryn Thurman, Kelsey Dunckel, Ryan Dunckel, Haley Ecker, Martin Thurman, and Ally Ecker. Great Granddaughter’s,
Affinity and Kourtney Babin. She is also survived by her sister Victoria Perez of Fresno, CA.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis of 57
years. Sister’s, Cora Sanchez, Adeline De La Cruz, brother, Henry
Meza and son-in-law, Blair LaMere.
All who knew Beatrice will miss her sweet and kind spirit.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Most Holy Rosary to be recited on Friday evening February 19, 2016 at 6pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 11am in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Interment will immediately follow Mass in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
