Louis C. Herman, 62, of Gales Ferry passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London surrounded by his family. He was born on March 7, 1953 in Westerly, RI.
Louis was a person known by many for his love for racing, cooking and spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren, and meeting up with his brothers and sisters in Mystic for coffee. Louis also loved spending time with his two special buddies, Little Bit and Little One, who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Patricia (Dodge) Herman, as well as two daughters, their spouses and children, Jodi and John Michalak (Brandyn, John Jr., Bryan, Bryanna)and Melissa and James Robinson (Tiffany and Meagan); two sons Raymond Herman (Christian, Courtland, RJ) and Kevin and his wife AJ Herman (Sheldon and Zoe) and six great-grandchildren (Avery, Carson, Landon, Weston, Everly and Kylie). Louis also leaves behind seven brothers; Wayne Weber, Albie Weber, Alfred Weber, Donald Weber, Ronald Weber, Tony Weber, Dougie Weber and 6 sisters Barbara O'Brien, Sandra Young, Julia Schramm, Maurine Charles, Kaye Biltcliffe, Janet Parcells and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Louis and Beatrice (Swain) Herman, he is predeceased by brothers Raymond Weber and William Herman.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial will be private for the family in Pendleton Hill Cemetery, North Stonington.
