Daniel E. “Sonny” Kline, 88, of Brockton died on January 18th, 2016 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was the husband of the late Eileen Boland-Kline for 26 years and formerly Margaret A. Kline of Plymouth, MA. He was born and raised in Halifax, NS, Canada, and attended Dalhousie University before moving to the United States in 1950.
Daniel served as a member of the U.S. Army in the Korean War and has been an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1046 in Brockton for decades, holding many officer positions and serving on the color guard until 2015.
Daniel graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and worked as a registered pharmacist until he retired at 80. He took great pride in his rigorous exercise routine for which he credited his longevity and was an avid reader. He had deep love for his large family and adored his grandchildren.
Daniel leaves his 9 children; Dianne Ryan, Elizabeth Fahey, Susan Kline, Judatha Kline, Patricia Donnelly, Linda Naddaff, Joanne Ezepeke, Daniel W. and Christina Kline; he is survived by his siblings William and Robert Kline and Helen Lindsay all of Canada and was predeceased by Janet Kline, Mary Norris, Patricia Coolen and David Kline. He also leaves his 14 grandchildren, Andy, Beverly, Steven, Meaghan, Fred, Keryn, Christopher, Derek, Leah, Elyse, Madeline, Jessica, Daniel and Raina and Great grandchild, Richard Joseph III as well as many nieces and nephews. Daniel also leaves Eileen’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte.123) Brockton on Friday 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial will be in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne on Monday.
