Michael James Keefe "Footie" passed into eternal life on January 14, 2016 peacefully at South Shore Hospital with family at his side. Michael was born in Cohasset Hospital on October 23rd, 1940 to his parents Sarah and Thomas J. Keefe. A resident of Hingham in his early childhood years. Michael attended Norwood and Dorchester schools as well as Randolph High School where he graduated in 1959. “Footie” had a lifetime of injuries but managed to work at Bethlehem Steel in Quincy, MA and in the construction industry for many years never complaining about his numerous health challenges. “Footie” was passionate about the good care of animals, especially cats. He was also a fan of Boston sports, especially the Patriots. Michael was a devoted Elvis Presley fan from the beginning. He recently got the chance to visit Graceland with his two nephews. Michael was always a colorful addition to any gathering and will be sorely missed by all.
Michael leaves brothers Thomas J. Keefe and his wife Maureen of Rockland, MA, Patrick M. Keefe and his wife Judith of E. Weymouth, MA and his sisters Mary Ann Sacre of Los Angeles, CA and Joan C. Doscher of Duxbury, MA. He also leaves a son Scott Flaherty and his wife Elaine of Kingston, MA. Michael was the loving grandfather to Meghan, Lillian, and Erin. Michael is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and his devoted friends "The Rumpot Rustlers".
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass for Michael at St. Francis Xavier Church in S.Weymouth on Saturday January 23rd, 2016 at 9:30 AM.
